Vistra Basketball Leagues - January Update

Vistra Basketball Leagues - January Update

With the Christmas break well and truly behind us, we thought we would provide an update on whats been happening in the first weeks of 2017!

The Inter Insular is confirmed for 29th April 2017 at Beau-Sejour and we will once again welcome 4 Jersey teams and our UK Officiating crew - Roger Harrison, Steve Wheatcroft and Luke Sienna. The times of the games are:

10am - Under 17

12pm - Under 21

2pm - Senior Women

4pm - Senior Men

In Island Games news, the Gotland Basketball organisers have confirmed there will be 11 men's Teams and 7 Women's Teamscompeting with the structure and draw due to be held in the next couple of weeks.  More news will be released as and when it is available.

Locally the leagues are starting to take shape with only four unbeaten records remaining.  In Division 1 Heritage trail Le Mont Saint in the standings but with a 3-0 record they only trail by virtue of having played fewer games.  Skipton are third while Mayside continue to look for their first win.

In Division 2 LMS Used have a perfect record as they look to claim back to back titles.  MUG also sit second at 5-0 so the next encounter between the two will be crucial.

Sigma lead the way in the Women's division but suffered a 2 point defeat to Rothschild Tigers on the back of a big Kat Daunt performance and with Tigers only a game behind the next meeting between the two should be exciting!

In the Development League MUG Hurricanes lead the way at 4-0.  Fire are a couple of games back having beaten Diverse by 2 in a nail biter and there is some great basketball being played by all teams.  The Women's Development team are still looking for their first win and were unlucky to miss out against Diverse, losing by three in Overtime.

We will be back with more updates soon but for now, check out the league tables on the home page and the latest Player Stats on our statistics page.
